  • 2.5 lbs bone-in pork shoulder 
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • Corn tortillas for serving
  • Toppings: diced onions, chopped cilantro, lime wedges, salsa, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the ground cumin, dried oregano, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both portions of the pork shoulder.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Place one portion of the pork shoulder in a slow cooker or a large pot.
  3. Pour half of the BBQ sauce mixture over the pork, ensuring it is coated evenly.
  4. Cook on low heat for 8-10 hours or until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded.
